My career has been shaped by my ability to balance creativity and business. My passion for music and community began in high school when I played bass in bands within the vibrant 1980s Washington, DC, music scene. During this time, I quickly recognized the need for support in areas such as logistics, legal issues, and the financial challenges that many artists faced. This realization prompted me to explore the business side of creativity.
Since those early days, I've worked in various aspects of the entertainment industry and led creative and marketing teams in the consulting and technology markets. I have been fortunate to witness the transformation from analog to digital and subsequent explosion into online experiences. Throughout this journey, balancing creativity with business acumen has been essential not only for my personal development but also for the success of my projects and organizations.
As far as my musical skills, I still pick up an instrument from time to time, but I mostly leave that to the pros. I prefer going to gigs and traveling with trusty camera in hand.
